I love working in a beautiful safe environment where children can spend time both indoors and outdoors and are the heart of our nurseries. I enjoy working and leading a great team of childcare practitioners who each have their own unique qualities. I enjoy watching the children learn and grow but having fun whilst doing a variety of challenging and exciting activities.

I started here at Ashfield nursery as the chef many moons ago when the doors first opened creating healthy nutritional menus and meals for all the children. Over the years I grew great relationships with all the children and parents and found myself helping in the rooms most days. This led me to do my NVQ level 2 and 3 in childcare and I worked my way up to senior then deputy and now manager, gaining a level 5 diploma in leadership and management along the way. I have been here 21 years and love leading a fantastic team of nursery practitioners who all thrive from the buzzing atmosphere. If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life!

I have over 10 years of childcare experience and have worked my way up to becoming deputy manager. I have developed my skills and knowledge to come to the nursery SENCO. I enjoy coming to work each day to see the children happy and learning whilst they are with us, I have had both of my own children who thrived whilst coming. We have a fabulous team which I regard as my work family.

The thing that makes me a great practitioner is that I am a big kid myself. I love to get stuck in with the children, getting muddy, messy and wet. When you meet me, my uniform is almost never clean. I feel that children learn best in a hands-on environment and then I use my knowledge and experience to extend and enhance their learning and make sure they flourish in our wonderful child led environment.

Hi, my name is Mandy I’m a level 3 qualified nursery practitioner and iv been working at Ashfield since 2018. I really enjoy working at this nursery and love how rewarding my job is in being able to watch and help the children grow, to gain their independence and confidence, learning the skills they need to go forward as well as having lots of fun. I especially love it when the children come into the nursery with beaming smiles and lots of chatter. Ashfield is such a welcoming place to work, the staff are so lovely, helpful and the management team are very supportive. There’s always a friendly face waiting to welcome the children through the doors. I feel privileged to be a part of a wonderful team.
