If you need more flexibility, you may be able to receive free childcare for 52 weeks if you use fewer than 30 hours per week. Simply speak with our team to see if this is an option for you.

To be eligible for free childcare, your circumstances will be taken into account. This includes your employment status, income (and your partner’s income, if applicable), your child’s age and circumstances, and your immigration status. However, it is important to note that you can receive 30 hours of free childcare while also claiming Universal Credit, tax credits, childcare vouchers, or Tax-Free Childcare.

At Ashfield Nursery, we are committed to making quality childcare accessible to all families, including those who may be facing financial hardship. If you live in England and receive any of the following benefits, your 2-year-old may be eligible for free childcare:

  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Universal Credit, with a household income of £15,400 a year or less after tax (excluding benefit payments)
  • The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit (or both), with a household income of £16,190 a year or less before tax
  • The Working Tax Credit 4-week run on (the payment you get when you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

In addition, 2-year-olds may be eligible for free childcare if they are looked after by a local authority, have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan, receive Disability Living Allowance, or have left care under an adoption order, special guardianship order, or child arrangements order.
