Busy Bee Rooms
Our Busy Bee Room is our Preschool room where children can enjoy a combination of child-initiated and adult-led activities, staff encourage them to make independent choices which develops their critical thinking.
Staff plan in line with children’s interests and emerging learning needs where your child will demonstrate their motivation to learn as they become fascinated with their nursery environment. Children are encouraged to use manners and show respect for one another and towards staff.
Children are encouraged to practise their skills using one-handed tools, such as scissors, crayons, and pencils, to strengthen their smaller hand muscles. Children learn about diversity and the wider world through discussions and activities that build their awareness of cultural events and celebrations during the year.
Staff will gather keywords and phrases from families who speak English as an additional language to aid communication. It is important that children of this age enjoy learning through play, develop good social skills and communication skills to support them through school life.

Supporting your child
Our approach to childcare involves promoting the development of both fine and gross motor skills through sensory exploration and edible play. We utilise various tools and activities to encourage independent movement around the room, which in turn helps to build core muscle strength.
The staff provides various options for your child to engage in physical activities outdoors, which aid in the development of their gross motor skills. Additionally, they promote the strengthening of their fine motor skills by utilizing one-handed tools such as scissors, crayons, and pencils, which enhance their smaller hand muscles.
Incorporated into the daily nursery routine is a ‘wake up and shake up’ activity to encourage physical movement. Along with physical activities, the significance of good health is emphasized to your child.
Lots of opportunities will be given to your child to promote print awareness, this supports children understanding the use of books. Books are provided throughout the room and a comfy area is accessible if they choose.
Children are encouraged to join in with repetitive words and phrases throughout their session. A variety of writing resources are cascaded throughout the room.
